Last week, we enjoyed a fabulous Christmas Popcats session, and it truly was a wonderful way to spend the morning together.
We were delighted to welcome Caroline and the children from Caroline’s Childminding and Trinity Childminding, who brought plenty of festive cheer with them. From the moment the session began, the room was full of energy, laughter and excitement. This was helped along by Caroline’s fantastic collection of Christmas hats and her infectious enthusiasm.

The session was packed with fun activities that everyone could enjoy. We danced, sang, played instruments and shared lots of smiles along the way. Residents and children both got involved, creating a lovely buzz in the room and a real sense of togetherness. It was heartwarming to see different generations enjoying the music and movement side by side.
Music sessions like these are always popular, and this festive edition was no exception. Familiar songs encouraged gentle movement, clapping along and singing together. The instruments added an extra layer of fun and interaction. The joy on everyone’s faces said it all.

After such an energetic and lively session, it was lovely to take a moment to slow down and enjoy a quieter moment together. Residents and children spent time reading together, chatting and sharing stories. This calm and relaxed ending felt like the perfect balance to the morning, offering a peaceful and meaningful way to finish.

Intergenerational activities like this are so special. They create shared memories, encourage connection and bring a warmth to the home that stays long after the session has ended. This Christmas Popcats visit did exactly that, combining fun, movement and togetherness with moments of calm and reflection.
A big thank you to Caroline and all the children for making the morning so enjoyable. It really was the perfect end to a great festive morning, and one we will all remember fondly.
