A Festive Week of Carols, Christmas Jumpers

We certainly enjoyed a very festive week here at Lear House, filled with music, laughter and lovely moments shared with family, friends and our wider community.

We began with a lovely Carol Service, which was enjoyed by residents alongside family and friends who joined us for the occasion. The service created a calm and reflective atmosphere, with familiar carols and readings bringing everyone together in a meaningful way.

We would like to say a big thank you to Father Brian and Steve from St Andrew’s Church, as well as to our wonderful readers, who helped make the service so special. Thank you too to everyone who joined us on the day. Your presence added so much warmth and made the service feel truly memorable.

Adding an extra layer of festive fun, it was also Christmas Jumper Day. Residents and staff embraced the occasion with enthusiasm, donning colourful, cosy and wonderfully festive jumpers. There were plenty of smiles, laughs and compliments as everyone admired each other’s outfits, adding a cheerful and light-hearted touch to the day.

The celebrations didn’t stop there, because we also showed that we really do know how to throw a Christmas party at Lear House. After enjoying a delicious Christmas lunch together, the afternoon continued with live music from Mark Birch, who created a fantastic atmosphere and had everyone enjoying the festive tunes.

To make the afternoon even more special, the Christmas Bear made a surprise appearance, bringing a little gift for everyone. This caused plenty of excitement and smiles all round, and was a lovely moment that residents thoroughly enjoyed.

From carols and Christmas jumpers to music, gifts and great company, it was a week filled with festive cheer and shared celebration. Moments like these are what make life at Lear House so special, bringing people together to enjoy the season in a warm and welcoming environment.

Thank you to everyone who helped make these occasions so enjoyable. They were truly wonderful celebrations that will be fondly remembered by all.
