We certainly had a flipping good time yesterday afternoon as we celebrated Pancake Day in true Seafield House style.
There was plenty of excitement in the air as residents gathered for the chance to try their hand at tossing a pancake. We made sure the pancake and the pan were completely cold, so it was all about the fun and none of the splatters. That didn’t stop the concentration though. There were steady hands, careful counting and a few impressive flips that wouldn’t look out of place in a kitchen competition.

Of course, there were also a couple of cheeky near misses, which only added to the laughter. The room was filled with encouragement and good-natured cheering as everyone took their turn. Whether residents were tossing the pancake themselves or watching and applauding, it was a lovely shared moment that brought plenty of smiles.

Pancake Day is always a great excuse to do something a little different, and this year was no exception. It’s these light-hearted activities that spark conversation, friendly competition and lots of joy. Residents enjoyed chatting about favourite toppings, childhood memories of Shrove Tuesday and family traditions over the years.

There’s something wonderfully simple about coming together for a bit of seasonal fun. From careful flips to big laughs, the afternoon had a relaxed and cheerful feel that everyone enjoyed.
A big well done to all our pancake flippers. It was a fantastic way to mark Pancake Day, and we can safely say it went down a treat.
