A Thursday of Togetherness

Last Thursday was a heart-warming, activity-filled morning that reminded us just how special life at Abbeyfield Hoylake & West Kirby really is. From singing songs with little ones to sharing stories and knitting with friends, our residents had a truly wonderful time.

We kicked things off with a visit from some familiar faces. The children from Carrie’s Tiney Home Nursery and Caroline’s Childminding came to visit. The lounge was filled with music, laughter and the rustle of storybook pages as the children and our residents read together. As always, the little ones brought such joy and energy, and it was lovely to see the smiles and warm exchanges between generations. These visits are a cherished part of our community-led care.

After the children had waved their goodbyes, it was straight into our Knit and Natter session with Heather. Needles clicked, yarns were shared, and the concentration was only broken by bursts of chatter and laughter. Whether it’s a scarf for a shoebox or a headband for a loved one, the focus and creativity of our residents is always impressive.

These are just two examples of the life-enriching activities for older adults that are part of everyday life here at Abbeyfield. We’re proud to offer more than just care – we create a homely environment for later life, where every day brings a new opportunity to engage, enjoy and connect.

Whether it’s independent living with a helping hand or short-term elderly care, our home provides elderly support tailored to individual needs.
