At Abbeyfield Hoylake & West Kirby, there is always something to look forward to. Earlier this month we were treated to another fabulous afternoon with Sandra Currie, filled with music, laughter and plenty of dancing.
As part of our ongoing programme of life-enriching activities for older adults, sessions like these play a vital role in creating a vibrant and engaging daily routine. They are a key part of our approach to supportive senior living in Wirral. Wellbeing is supported not just through care, but through meaningful shared experiences.

The room came alive from the moment Sandra began. She played great music and familiar songs. Residents were soon singing along, clapping to the rhythm and enjoying the uplifting atmosphere. The music sparked fond memories, encouraging conversation and connection, all within our homely environment for later life.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a visit from Sandra without a little bit of dancing. Residents joined in at their own pace. For some, that meant getting up for a dance or simply moving along from their seats. It is this inclusive approach that reflects our commitment to personalised care for older residents. We ensure everyone can take part in a way that feels comfortable and enjoyable.

Music sessions like this are a wonderful example of day-to-day care with a personal touch. It assists gentle movement, emotional wellbeing benefits and plenty of opportunities for social interaction. The laughter, smiles and shared enjoyment throughout the afternoon highlighted just how important these moments are.
Creating a safe and social setting for ageing well means offering a variety of activities that residents genuinely look forward to. Regular visits like this ensure there is always something happening. They allow us to build routine, excitement and a strong sense of community.
