We had an absolutely brilliant afternoon earlier this month when Carla dropped in for one of her much loved activity sessions. As always, she brought plenty of energy and fun with her – and this time, a box of colourful rackets and balloons!

The game of the day?
Balloon tennis is a favourite at Lear House. With balloon in play and rackets at the ready, there was lots of laughter, concentration and gentle competition as our residents worked together to keep it in the air. It’s the perfect mix of movement and fun. Offering a safe and social setting for ageing well.
These kinds of sessions are a wonderful example of how we provide life enriching activities for older adults. Whether it’s a focus on coordination, memory, or just sharing a few giggles with friends, they’re designed to support both physical and emotional wellbeing.

Why are days like this important?
At Abbeyfield Hoylake & West Kirby, we pride ourselves on offering day to day care with a personal touch. Carla’s visit is just one of many regular events that keep our community engaged, active and enjoying later life in a homely environment. It’s all part of our approach to caring for older people with dignity and respect, and ensuring every day offers something joyful.
We understand how important it is to strike the right balance between independence and support. That’s why we offer a mix of independent living with a helping hand, short term elderly care and compassionate respite care for those who need a break or a temporary stay.

Looking for a friendly residential home near West Kirby or Hoylake? We’d love to show you what life is like at Abbeyfield. It’s warm, welcoming, and filled with moments just like this. Thank you once again Carla!
