Best of British Fun with Boogie Woogie

Earlier this month we enjoyed a truly wonderful afternoon at Abbeyfield Hoylake & West Kirby when the lovely Jenna from Boogie Woogie Music, Movement & Memories returned for another of her much-loved themed sessions. This time the theme was Best of British. From the very first song the room was filled with nostalgia, laughter and plenty of toe-tapping joy.

Jenna chose a brilliant selection of classic British tunes, including well-loved favourites like Happiness by Ken Dodd and How Much is That Doggie in the Window?. The familiar melodies had residents smiling instantly, with many joining in for a good singalong. These sessions are a perfect example of how life-enriching activities for older adults help spark memories, boost wellbeing and bring genuine happiness into our home.

As always, Jenna brought a lovely mix of movement, music and light-hearted fun. Her warm energy lit up the room and encouraged everyone to take part, whether through gentle dancing, clapping along or simply enjoying the songs from the comfort of an armchair. It’s these thoughtful, uplifting afternoons that reflect what supportive senior living in Wirral is all about — shared experiences that make each day brighter.

The smiles around the room said everything. There was laughter, chatter between songs and that special feeling of togetherness that makes Lear House such a homely environment for later life. For our residents, afternoons like this offer more than entertainment. They bring connection, comfort and the chance to relive treasured memories through music.
