Building Strength and Sharing Smiles with Carla

Our second August Activity Session with Carla was all about movement, strength and a good dose of laughter. Carla guided residents through gentle exercises designed to support mobility and build confidence, using resistance bands to work on strength in a safe and enjoyable way.

It was inspiring to see everyone joining in at their own pace, proving that exercise can be adapted for all abilities. The focus wasn’t just on physical benefits – the session encouraged independence, lifted spirits and created a real sense of achievement.

Of course, no afternoon with Carla would be complete without plenty of fun too. After the exercises were done, the group shared light-hearted moments, smiles and chatter, turning the session into more than just exercise, it became a chance to connect, unwind and enjoy time together.

At Abbeyfield Hoylake & West Kirby, activities like this remind us how important it is to support both body and mind in later life. With Carla’s encouragement and energy, our residents felt the benefits of keeping active while enjoying a warm and social atmosphere.

We’re already looking forward to her next visit!
