There’s never a dull moment when Jenna from Boogie Woogie Music, Movement & Memories is in the building – and our latest afternoon session was no exception! With laughter, music and a hint of fairground magic, our lounge at Abbeyfield Hoylake & West Kirby was buzzing with energy once again.
This time, Jenna brought a fairground theme to the party – complete with upbeat tunes, lively movement, and even a game of hook-a-duck! There were plenty of smiles as our residents joined in the fun, swaying to the music and cheering each other on.

We were also thrilled to welcome a very special guest volunteer – our youngest and perhaps most enthusiastic helper, Charlie, along with his mum Louise. Charlie is already a firm favourite with everyone at Lear House. He joins in with everything, helps where he can and always brings a burst of joy into the room. His kindness, energy and natural warmth make him a brilliant little volunteer, and we’re so lucky to have him with us.
During the hook-a-duck challenge, Charlie was on hand to assist – making sure everyone got a fair go and cheering them on as only he can. After a hotly contested few rounds, the winner was our lovely resident Vera, who was delighted to receive her gold medal from Charlie himself. A proud moment for both of them, and one that perfectly captured the spirit of the afternoon.

At Abbeyfield Hoylake & West Kirby, these joyful moments are what it’s all about – enriching life in a residential setting with personalised care for older residents, a sense of fun, and plenty of community connection. From compassionate respite care in Wirral to independent living with a helping hand, we’re proud to offer more than just care – we offer a place where people can truly thrive.
A huge thank you to Jenna for another brilliant Boogie Woogie session, and of course to Charlie and Louise for being such shining stars. We can’t wait to welcome you all back again very soon.
