Fizz, Friendship and Fabulous Music – A Joyful Open Afternoon at Lear House

A couple of weeks ago, we opened our doors at Abbeyfield Hoylake & West Kirby for a truly special Open Afternoon – and what a fantastic time we had!

There was something for everyone – great live music from the wonderful Mark Birch, a glass of fizz (or two!), and a delicious spread of cake that disappeared in record time. Laughter filled the lounge as residents, friends, family and visitors relaxed, sang along and soaked up the feel-good atmosphere.

And we had a particularly adorable guest of honour – one of our youngest ever visitors, who brought smiles to every corner of the room! Seeing multiple generations together always makes an afternoon feel extra meaningful, and this was no exception. From grandparents to great-grandparents, everyone enjoyed the simple joy of being together.

Mark Birch, as ever, had everyone tapping their toes and even up dancing – including a few spontaneous solo performances! The energy in the room was infectious, and the joy was written on every face. Whether seated with a tambourine or up for a boogie, everyone joined in in their own way.

As you can see, Audrey had a fabulous time!

These moments of connection and celebration are what we’re all about – creating a homely environment for later life, full of warmth, fun and genuine community spirit.

Whether you’re a returning visitor or someone thinking about making Abbeyfield Hoylake & West Kirby your home, our Open Afternoons are a great way to experience our friendly, welcoming atmosphere first-hand.
