From Choral Harmonies to Piano and Flute

Last week, we were fortunate to enjoy two wonderful afternoons of live music, each bringing something special for our residents to enjoy.

The first visit came from The Deeside Singers, who spent the afternoon with us sharing a selection of beautiful songs. Their harmonies filled the room and created a warm, uplifting atmosphere from start to finish. Residents sat together enjoying the music, with plenty of smiles and quiet moments of singing along. It was a relaxed and enjoyable afternoon, and the music was clearly appreciated by everyone who took part.

Five elderly women sit indoors on a row of orange chairs; some hold papers or drinks, with a walking frame and a mug visible in front of them.

Later in the week, we were delighted to welcome Richard and Sarah for a separate musical afternoon featuring piano and flute. Their performance brought a calmer, more reflective feel, with elegant melodies that held everyone’s attention. The combination of piano and flute created a gentle, soothing sound that residents found especially relaxing.

Across both afternoons, the music offered a lovely mixture of classical pieces and Christmas favourites, making the sessions perfect for the season. Residents enjoyed recognising festive tunes while also appreciating the beauty of the classical selections. The variety meant there was something for everyone, whether they preferred traditional carols or timeless instrumental music.

Music plays an important role in daily life here, offering moments of enjoyment, reflection and shared experience. These two afternoons did exactly that, bringing residents together to enjoy live performances in a friendly and familiar setting.

We would like to say a big thank you to The Deeside Singers, and to Richard and Sarah, for giving their time and talents so generously. Both visits were thoroughly enjoyed and helped create some very special moments.

We look forward to welcoming you back again in the future for more lovely afternoons of music.
