Keeping Strong and Smiling at Abbeyfield

We kicked off September with our first Activities Afternoon with Carla, and what a brilliant session it was. Residents enjoyed a variety of exercises designed to support concentration, coordination and balance – all delivered in a way that was engaging, supportive and fun.

Carla’s sessions are tailored to suit everyone, encouraging each resident to join in at their own pace. From simple balance exercises to gentle movements that challenge coordination, every activity helps maintain independence and boost confidence. These afternoons are as much about laughter and encouragement as they are about exercise, making them something our residents really look forward to.

Keeping active in later life has so many proven benefits – from improving mobility and strength to enhancing mood and overall wellbeing. At Abbeyfield Hoylake & West Kirby, we know that movement is key to ageing well, which is why we’re proud to offer supportive sessions like these as part of daily life in our friendly residential home.

Of course, no activity is complete without plenty of smiles along the way. Carla brings a wonderful energy to each session, making exercise feel less like a chore and more like an opportunity to connect, have fun and feel good.

We’re already excited to see what she has planned for our next Active Afternoon!
