Laughter, Lyrics and Little Ones

There’s something truly magical about the sound of children’s laughter echoing through Abbeyfield Lear House. And on a sunny afternoon recently, we were lucky enough to host an absolute treat – a joyful visit from Popcat’s Music Time along with the little stars from St Agnes Pre-School Group. And what a fabulous fun afternoon it was!

We always say that Abbeyfield Hoylake & West Kirby is more than just a Residential Care Home. It’s a place full of life, music, connections and community spirit. When you mix that with catchy tunes, bubbles galore and the boundless energy of pre-schoolers, you’ve got a recipe for pure joy – and a lot of smiling faces.

Led by the ever-wonderful Caroline from Popcat’s, the session was filled with upbeat songs, playful movement and interactive music-making. The children arrived ready to sing and dance – and our residents were more than happy to join in the fun! From tapping tambourines to waving colourful scarves, every moment was a reminder of the joy that multigenerational experiences can bring.

Music Time, Memory Lane

For many of our residents, music is a powerful tool for connection. The familiar tunes sparked happy memories and got toes tapping. You could see the delight as they joined in with nursery rhymes, they’d once sung to their own children or grandchildren. It’s these kinds of experiences that make community-centric living so special – where every day is about connection, not just care.

We’re incredibly lucky to have strong relationships with groups like St Agnes Pre-School, whose regular visits bring so much cheer to our home. We’re always looking for new opportunities to bring the community into Abbeyfield – and vice versa.
