Oh Yes We Did! A Magical Afternoon with Aladdin at Lear House

Last week, Lear House was filled with excitement, laughter and a touch of theatrical magic. We enjoyed a wonderful production of Aladdin performed by Eva Long Productions. From the moment the music began, it was clear we were in for a fabulous afternoon filled with fun and feel-good entertainment.

The performance had everything you could wish for! Lively songs, plenty of jokes and lots of laugh-out-loud moments that kept everyone smiling from start to finish. Residents were quickly swept up in the story, joining in with familiar tunes and enjoying the playful humour that made the show such a joy to watch. It was one of those afternoons where the room felt alive with energy, connection and shared delight.

After the show, the fun continued with a brilliant sing-along that had everyone joining in together. These moments perfectly capture the spirit of life-enriching activities for older adults. We often use music and performance to help bring people together and create lasting memories. It’s a lovely example of how supportive senior living in Wirral is about far more than day-to-day care. It’s about experiences that spark joy and togetherness.

To make the afternoon even more special, we were treated to some delicious goodies kindly donated by Helen Lester, which were very much appreciated by everyone. Sitting back with a treat in hand, chatting about favourite moments from the show. It rounded off the afternoon perfectly and added to the warm, celebratory atmosphere.

Events like this reflect the heart of Abbeyfield Hoylake & West Kirby. It’s a place where residents can enjoy a homely environment for later life, filled with laughter, creativity and companionship. They also highlight the importance of community-led care in Merseyside, with local performers and supporters coming together to create something truly special.

A huge thank you to Eva Long Productions for a fantastic performance and to Helen Lester for her generous treats. And of course, thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a memorable afternoon. Oh yes it was!
