Rhythm, Rhyme and a Whole Lot of Fun

There is always something to look forward to at Abbeyfield Hoylake & West Kirby. Last month’s visit from Andrew and Marko brought another fantastic afternoon of music, poetry and dancing for our residents to enjoy.

As part of our life-enriching activities, sessions are designed to bring variety, creativity and connection into everyday life. From the first note played to the final round of applause, the afternoon was filled with energy, laughter and shared enjoyment.

Music has a powerful way of bringing people together, and this session did exactly that. Residents were soon tapping along. We were singing familiar songs and, for many, getting up to dance. Alongside the music, the addition of poetry added a thoughtful and engaging element. This sparked conversation and reflection while keeping the atmosphere light and inclusive.

This blend of music and spoken word is a perfect example of day-to-day care with a personal touch. Activities are carefully chosen to suit a wide range of interests and abilities. Whether residents chose to dance, listen or simply enjoy the moment, everyone was able to take part in a way that felt comfortable and enjoyable.

At the heart of what we do is supportive senior living in Wirral, where wellbeing is supported not just through care, but through meaningful experiences. Sessions like this don’t just encourage gentle movement. They boost mood and create opportunities for social connection. All occuring within a safe and social setting for ageing well.

Andrew and Marko brought warmth, humour and a fantastic sense of fun. They create an environment where residents felt relaxed, engaged and ready to join in. Their visits are always a highlight, and this afternoon was no exception.

For families exploring local care options for families in Wirral, it is these engaging activities that provide reassurance and peace of mind. Knowing that residents are enjoying varied, stimulating experiences in a homely environment for later life makes all the difference.

Another fun-filled afternoon of music, poetry and dancing, and one we will be talking about for a while to come. We are already looking forward to welcoming Andrew and Marko back again soon.
