Earlier this month, we had the absolute pleasure (and borderline cardio session) of another brilliant afternoon with the one and only Mark Birch. If you’ve not had the joy yet – picture your favourite pub singalong, minus the sticky floors and with far better company.

Mark brought the tunes, we brought the vocals (some questionable, all enthusiastic), and together we knocked out the classics with a few cheeky new numbers thrown in. Safe to say, hips were swinging, arms were waving, and at least one person attempted a dance move not seen since 1984. We won’t name names.

But here’s the thing. It’s not just about the music – although that bit is pretty brilliant. It’s about connection. About seeing someone’s face light up when the first few bars of their favourite song kicks in. About forgetting the news, the weather, and what day it is, and just having a proper laugh with your mates.

Moments like these remind us why we do what we do here at Abbeyfield Hoylake & West Kirby. Whether you call it Residential Care, Respite Care or just a good old knees-up – for us, it’s all about community-centric living and creating joy in the every day.
So, cheers Mark. Same time next month? We’ll start warming up the vocal cords now.
