Singing & Cherished Memories with Boogie Woogie Music

There’s something truly magical about the sound of laughter, the tap of feet to a lively tune, and the kind of joy that lights up a room without needing a single Easter egg in sight. That was exactly the scene at Abbeyfield Lear House, right in the heart of West Kirby, when Jenna from Boogie Woogie Music, Movement & Memories dropped by for a truly unforgettable afternoon.

Our lovely residents at Abbeyfield Hoylake & West Kirby were treated to a musical Easter extravaganza, complete with toe-tapping tunes, hearty singalongs and more than a few happy tears. Jenna didn’t just bring her incredible energy and music—she brought heart, soul and a generous dash of nostalgia.

A Springtime Boogie to Remember

With Easter in full bloom and the air filled with the promise of spring, Jenna’s visit couldn’t have been timed better. She brought the sunshine indoors with a specially curated Easter music session that had everyone humming along, clapping in time and – yes – even up for a bit of a dance! From classics that triggered warm memories to upbeat tunes that brought on the giggles, the atmosphere was electric.

Our community-centred ethos means we’re always looking for ways to bring joy and purpose to our residents, and Jenna’s visit ticked every box. It was more than just entertainment – it was connection, movement and mindful care, all rolled into one tuneful afternoon.

Dancing, Laughter and Memory Magic

But this wasn’t just about singing and dancing (though there was plenty of that!). Jenna also brought along her beautifully designed memory boxes, filled with evocative items, books and conversation starters to spark recollection and discussion. These memory boxes are such an important part of what makes Boogie Woogie Music, Movement & Memories so special.

Residents shared personal stories, had thoughtful chats and reminisced about Easters gone by. Whether it was chatting about a childhood favourite book or laughing over a quirky item from days past, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming and filled with a real sense of togetherness. It’s all part of the adaptable care approach we embrace here at our residential care home in the Wirral—where every resident’s story matters and every memory is valued.
