There’s something quite magical about the garden at Abbeyfield Lear House when the sun shines, the music plays and there’s a glass of fizz in hand. Yesterday was one of those feel-good days as we gathered with Vera’s family and friends to celebrate her very special day, and what a wonderful afternoon it turned out to be.

At Abbeyfield Hoylake & West Kirby, we know how important it is to make birthdays memorable. Our Residential Care Home is not just about providing round the clock care; it’s about making sure every resident feels truly at home and surrounded by love. Vera’s garden party was the perfect example of our community-centric living in action.
Sandra Currie treated everyone to some beautiful live music, setting the perfect tone for a relaxing afternoon in the sunshine. There was a glass of fizz for those who fancied it (or two — it was a celebration after all), ice cream to keep us cool and of course a slice of delicious birthday cake baked with care by our talented team. It’s these thoughtful moments that make Residential Care feel so much more like home.

Seeing Vera laughing with her family, surrounded by her friends and neighbours here at Abbeyfield Lear House, reminded us all why we do what we do. Our adaptable care means everyone can celebrate in the way that suits them best — whether that’s a quiet cuppa and a slice of cake or a full-on garden party with music and a bit of dancing. We love seeing our West Kirby and Hoylake community come together to mark these milestones, proving once again that age is just a number when you’re surrounded by people who care.

From our sun-filled garden here on the Wirral, to our comfortable rooms and friendly lounges, everything at Abbeyfield Hoylake & West Kirby is designed to support the highest quality care with a truly homely feel. Whether you’re looking for Residential Care, Respite Care or even Replacement Care for a loved one, you can trust us to look after the little details that make big moments possible.

So, here’s to Vera, and to many more birthday parties filled with music, sunshine and laughter. This is community-centric living at its very best.
