An Afternoon Getting Active with Carla

There’s always a buzz when Carla’s around and her very first activity afternoon with us this month did not disappoint. We kicked things off with some gentle exercise to get everyone moving, nothing too strenuous but enough to get the giggles going and the bodies warmed up.

Once the stretches were done, the fun really began. Croquet mallets in hand, we all gathered our concentration and competitive spirit. It’s safe to say there was a lot of friendly rivalry and plenty of cheers when someone managed a tricky shot.

The stars of the day were our croquet champions, Margaret and Doreen. Their focus was unmatched, and they played like pros, much to everyone’s delight. Well done to both of you, we’re still talking about those winning shots over tea!

Activity Afternoons like these are exactly what life at Abbeyfield Hoylake & West Kirby is all about — gentle movement, plenty of laughter and a chance to try something new together. It’s this sense of adaptable care and community-centric living that makes our Residential Care Home feel like one big family.

Thank you, Carla, for bringing your energy and smiles, we can’t wait for the next round! Whether it’s croquet, balloon tennis or a singalong, there’s always something going on here. That’s what makes our round the clock care feel so special.

Here’s to more fun, more champions and more afternoons like this at Abbeyfield Lear House, because living well never goes out of style.
