Another few weeks of Knit and Natter
Our weekly Knit and Natter sessions with Heather have been as busy as ever, and we have gathered some photos from the last few weeks to share with you.
If you have never been to one, the name tells you most of what you need to know. There is a great deal of knitting, and there is always, always time for nattering.
Knitting and nattering in equal measure
The knitting is the reason everyone gathers, but the conversation is a big part of why they keep coming back.
Some of our residents have been knitting for decades and could do it with their eyes closed. Others are picking the needles back up after a long break, or trying something new with Heather’s help. Whatever the level of experience, the atmosphere is relaxed and sociable, with stories, catch-ups and a fair amount of laughter going on alongside the stitches.
It is a lovely example of how a simple, familiar activity can bring people together. Hands are busy, conversation flows, and there is something satisfying to show for it at the end.

A big thank you to Heather, who leads the sessions every week. Her patience, encouragement and knitting know-how keep everything running smoothly, whether someone needs a dropped stitch rescued or a new pattern explained.
A clue to what comes next
We will be starting some new projects over the next couple of weeks, and we are not giving the game away just yet.
Among the photos you will find one of a partially completed piece, which should give you a clue. If you need another hint, the thing we will be knitting is white, cold and very much associated with winter and Christmas.
