Pamper Afternoons with Jess

A little bit of luxury

Some of our activities are all about getting up and joining in. Our Pamper Afternoons with Jess are about the opposite: slowing down, sitting back and being looked after.

We have gathered some photos from recent sessions to give you a glimpse of what goes on, and from the look on everyone’s faces, it is clear these afternoons are a real highlight.

Facials and hand and arm massages

Jess offers residents a relaxing facial along with a gentle hand and arm massage, taking her time with each person so nobody feels rushed.

There is something especially comforting about a hand massage. It is gentle, personal and calming, and for many residents it is a lovely form of one-to-one attention. It also tends to get people chatting, and plenty of conversations have started over a bottle of hand cream.

Good music and a little glass of Baileys

To set the mood, there is always some good music playing in the background, helping the room settle into a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere.

And of course, no Pamper Afternoon would be complete without a little glass of Baileys. It is a small touch, but it turns the afternoon into a proper treat, and it is always very well received.

Why pampering matters

Feeling cared for is not only about the practical things. Taking time over how people look and feel is an important part of wellbeing, and a Pamper Afternoon is a simple way of making residents feel valued and a little bit special.

It is also a welcome contrast to the livelier parts of our activities programme. Alongside the music sessions, quizzes and visits from local children, a quiet afternoon of relaxation gives residents something different to look forward to.

Thank you, Jess

A big thank you to Jess for bringing her skill, her calm and her kindness to every session. Our residents always come away looking relaxed, refreshed and very content.
