Movement, Memories, and Jamaican Sunshine at Lear House

Residents at Lear House enjoyed another wonderful afternoon of exercise and entertainment with the ever-popular Carla, whose sessions continue to bring energy, laughter, and a real sense of community to the home.

Getting Active Together

The session began, as always, with a series of gentle exercises designed to get everyone moving and thinking. Carla’s approach blends physical movement with light mental challenges, helping residents stay active while keeping their minds engaged. It’s this thoughtful combination that has made her visits such a valued part of life at Lear House.

Games and Good Company

With everyone warmed up, the afternoon moved on to a selection of games that brought plenty of smiles and friendly competition to the room. These moments of shared fun are about far more than entertainment — they’re an opportunity for residents to connect, laugh together, and enjoy each other’s company in a relaxed setting.

A Taste of Jamaica

The real treat came at the end of the session, when Carla shared a collection of shells and keepsakes gathered during her recent holiday to Jamaica. Passing around these small souvenirs sparked wonderful conversations, as residents were transported to their own memories of holidays past — sunny beaches, family trips, and adventures from years gone by.

Building Connection Through Shared Stories

It’s moments like these that make Lear House feel like a true community. A simple collection of shells became the starting point for stories, laughter, and connection between residents and staff alike — proof that the best afternoons often end with the richest conversations.
