There’s nothing quite like a good sing-song and a shake of the maracas to brighten up an afternoon, and that’s exactly what residents at Lear House enjoyed last week when Caroline of Popcats Music Time paid us another wonderful visit.
A Feast of Fabulous Music
Caroline arrived with her usual warmth and energy, filling the lounge with familiar tunes that had residents singing along from the very first song. Music has a remarkable way of lifting spirits and sparking memories, and Caroline’s carefully chosen playlist did exactly that, bringing smiles to faces across the room.
Quizzes to Get Minds Ticking
Between songs, Caroline led residents through a lively round of quizzes, testing memories and encouraging plenty of friendly competition. These moments of gentle mental stimulation are just as important as the music itself, giving residents a chance to reminisce, share stories, and enjoy a bit of good-natured banter with one another.
Percussion Brought the Room to Life
Out came the tambourines, shakers, and drums, and the afternoon truly came alive. Residents joined in with enthusiasm, keeping rhythm and adding their own flair to the session. There’s something wonderfully freeing about picking up an instrument and simply enjoying the beat, and it was fantastic to see so many residents getting fully involved.
And Of Course, Some Dancing!
No visit from Caroline would be complete without a dance or two, and residents didn’t disappoint. Whether swaying gently in their seats or getting up for a proper twirl, the joy in the room was plain to see. It’s these moments of movement and laughter that make Caroline’s visits so special.
It really is always a wonderful afternoon whenever Caroline visits, and everyone at Lear House is already looking forward to her next session.
