Always lots of fun
An afternoon with Caroline is always one to look forward to at Lear House, and her latest visit on Thursday 17th was no exception.
Caroline, who runs Popcat’s Music Time in Prenton, is a familiar face to many of our residents from her intergenerational sessions with local nursery children. This time the afternoon was all about our residents, and they made the most of it.
Singing together
As always, music was at the heart of the afternoon.
Caroline led the room through plenty of familiar songs, and it did not take long for everyone to join in. Singing together is one of the simplest pleasures there is, and there is something especially lovely about a room full of voices joining in on songs that everybody knows.
A spot of quizzing
In between the songs, Caroline brought out the quiz questions, and the competitive spirit came out with them.
Quizzes are always popular at Lear House. They get people talking, spark memories and prompt plenty of friendly debate over the answers. Whether residents were calling out answers straight away or quietly working it out, everyone had a chance to take part.
Dancing and laughter
With the music going, it was not long before people were dancing too, whether on their feet or keeping time from their chairs.
And, as ever, there was plenty of laughter throughout. Caroline has a lovely way of keeping things light and fun, and by the end of the afternoon everyone was in very good spirits.
