Songs, Stories and Smiles: A Joyful Morning with Our Youngest Visitors

There’s something truly special about the sound of children’s laughter echoing through Lear House, and yesterday morning it filled every corner of the home. We were delighted to welcome the little ones from Carrie’s Tiney Home Nursery for a morning of songs, stories, and shared joy.

A Room Full of Song

As soon as the children arrived, the atmosphere lifted. Familiar tunes rang out as residents and little ones sang together, some tapping their feet, others clapping along with delight. It’s amazing how quickly a simple song can bring a room to life, bridging generations in the most natural way.

Stories That Brought Everyone Together

Alongside the singing, there was plenty of reading too — pages turned, pictures pointed at, and stories shared between old and young. These quiet, connected moments are just as meaningful as the singing, giving residents the chance to engage one-on-one with the children, swapping smiles and the occasional giggle over a favourite page.

Fun for Everyone

What stood out most was just how much fun everyone had. Laughter came easily and often, and it was clear that both the children and our residents left the morning with big smiles. Intergenerational visits like this one remind us how powerful these connections can be — for wellbeing, for community, and simply for the joy they bring.

We’re so grateful to Carrie’s Tiney Home Nursery for bringing their wonderful children to spend time with us, and we’re already looking forward to the next visit.
