Week 3 of our Boogie Baby sessions with Jenna from Connected Community Wellbeing CIC took place on 6th October, and this time we all set sail together. For one very special morning, residents, little ones and their grown-ups became a crew of sailors, ready for a voyage full of music, movement and fun.

Ahoy, Sailors!
Our theme for the week was all things nautical, and it felt like a perfect fit for our seaside home in West Kirby. Everyone was given a sailor hat to wear, and it wasn’t long before the whole room looked like the crew of a happy ship. There were plenty of smiles as residents and children spotted each other in matching hats, and the theme gave everyone a fun way to join in from the very start.

Music and Activities for the Whole Crew
Jenna brought along a great selection of music to set the scene, along with a lovely mix of activities for young and old to enjoy side by side. Whether it was singing along, moving to the music or simply watching the fun unfold, there was something for everyone on board. Each person found their own way to take part, and the room was full of laughter throughout the morning.

Bringing People Together
Boogie Baby has quickly become one of the most popular sessions in our programme, and it’s easy to see why. It’s a wonderful way of bringing people together and getting everyone involved, whatever their age. Three weeks in, the familiar faces, shared giggles and growing friendships between residents and children are a joy to see, and each themed morning adds another happy memory to the collection.
If you’ve been following along, you can catch up on how Boogie Baby began and our Wild West adventure in Week 2. You can also read about some of our other intergenerational visits, including time spent with Carrie’s Tiney Home Nursery.
