Free, fully funded Boogie Baby sessions are coming back to West Kirby.

After an early summer term that was every bit as joyful as we hoped, our Boogie Baby Intergenerational Music and Sensory Play sessions are returning to Abbeyfield Seafield House this September.
These mornings bring babies, families and Abbeyfield residents into the same room for music, sensory play, songs, instruments, bubbles, laughter and a great deal of love. Very little else creates the kind of atmosphere that a room full of babies and residents makes together.
What happens in a session
Each session is built around shared experience rather than performance. There are songs to sing together, instruments to shake, textures to explore and bubbles to chase. Babies get sensory stimulation and social contact at exactly the age they thrive on it. Residents get the lift that comes from being around small children, and the chance to join in at whatever level feels right on the day, whether that is singing along, holding an instrument or simply watching from a comfortable chair.
The intergenerational element is not an add on. It is the point. Older people and very young children respond to each other in a way that needs no explanation, and the moments that come out of it are genuinely lovely to witness.
Have a look at our social pages to see some of the moments captured during our early summer sessions.
