There’s always a buzz in the air when Andrew and Marko come to visit, and last week’s session was no exception! Our residents were treated to a wonderfully varied afternoon of music, poetry, and of course plenty of dancing.
An Afternoon of Something for Everyone
What made this visit extra special was the range on offer. Andrew and Marko brought along a fantastic mix of music to get everyone singing along, while a spot of poetry gave the afternoon a gentler, more reflective moment and naturally, it wasn’t long before residents were up on their feet dancing too!
Highlights from the afternoon included:
- A great range of music – old favourites and feel-good tunes that had everyone joining in
- Poetry – a lovely change of pace, sparking memories and conversation
- Dancing – because no visit from Andrew and Marko would be complete without it!
- Familiar faces – the warmth of a duo our residents know and love
Mixing music with poetry gave this session a lovely rhythm of its own — lively and upbeat one moment, thoughtful and nostalgic the next.

Visits from Andrew and Marko have become a real highlight of our activities calendar, sitting alongside other much-loved regular sessions like Boogie Baby music and sensory play, Popcats music and movement, and Knit and Natter. Together, these sessions help create a varied, sociable, and genuinely fun programme for everyone at Lear House.
